Birmingham World, a website that focuses on news from the UK’s second largest city, recently published a feature on famous people who were born or grew up in the Birmingham neighbourhood of Harborne.

At number 1, not surprisingly for us, is Steve Gibbons.

It’s not the first time Steve Gibbons has appeared in such a list.

While the first list contains many contemporaries, the second list includes Gibbons alongside historical figures and even a Nobel Prize winner. He is mentioned there:

The historian Edward Augustus Freeman (1823 – 1892 ) ’, the romantic painter David Cox (1783 – 1859) , the economist and reformer Thomas Attwood (1783 -1856), the poet W.H. Auden (1907 – 1973) and the Nobel Prize winner in chemistry Francis William Aston (1877 -Nov 1945, Nobel Prize 1922).

Birmingham World, eine Website, die vor allem Nachrichten aus Großbritanniens zweitgrößter Stadt bringt, veröffentlichte kürzlich einen Beitrag über berühmte Menschen, die im Birmingham Stadtteil Harborne geboren oder aufgewachsen sind.

Auf Nummer 1 findet sich, für uns nicht überraschend, Steve Gibbons.

Es nicht das erste Mal, dass Steve Gibbons in einer solchen Liste auftaucht.

Während die erste Liste viele Zeitgenossen enthält, findet sich Gibbons auf der zweiten neben historischen Personen und sogar einem Nobelpreisträger wieder.
